Tax-Free Shopping Guide
The consumption tax on the applicable items will be refunded as folows:
Tax-Free Items
○General Items: bags, shoes, watches, jewelry, clothing, household items and so on.
※Minimum purchase amount at the store in a single day: 5,000 yen (not including tax.): No need for special wrapping.
Use in Japan is permitted. Need to take out from Japan within 6 months.
○Consumable Items: cosmetics, food, cigarettes, beverages, pharmaceuticals and so on.
※Minimum purchase amount 5,000 yen and maximum amount 500,000 yen at the store in a single day. Need to be
specially wrapped. Use in Japan is not permitted.
※After purchase, need to take out of Japan within 30 days. *Do not open the package before your departure.

3.Free Coin-Lockers / Free Cool Coin-Lockers
The lockers are in B1, on 1F, 4F, 6F, 8F, and 9F.
（Usage is limited to opening hours on the day of purchase.）
※Insert a 100 yen coin to lock, but the coin will be returned when you unlock your locker.
４.Free Wheelchairs
The wheelchairs are in B1, on １F, ４F, 6F, 7F, 8F and 9F.
Upon request, they are lent for free.
５.Free Baby Strollers
The baby strollers are on 1F, 4F, 6F and 7F.
Upon request, they are lent for free.

Tax Exemption
The consumption tax exemption system is changing!
From April 1, 2023
In addition to cutting the work to be done in stores by making clear who is eligible for in-person tax-free purchases, these changes also provide extra sales opportunities for duty-free stores by eliminating waiting lines and enhancing travelers’ satisfaction with their shopping.
From April 1, 2023 onward, the following
persons will be eligible to use the system.
Among non-residents:
Persons who hold a foreign nationality
Tax-free purchases permitted
Persons who hold Short-Term Stay, Diplomat, or Official
status of residence
Persons staying in Japan with other landing permits (e.g., Land ing Permit for Cruise Ship Tourists) will remain eligible. For more inform ation, please visit the Japan Tourism Agency website.

Visit Japan Web makes identity verification even smarter
By scanning the 2D code displayed on the Visit Japan Web Service at tax-free stores, store staff can receive passport information from travelers. Identity verification is performed by the tax-free store staff using the photo displayed alongside the 2D code. This service is available to those with foreign nationality whose status of residence is Short-Term Stay, Diplomat, or Official.

Documentary evidence shall consist of residency certificate or a copy of the address history attached to the family register (both copies of an original).

Access
By train
Get off at Mito Station, and
- Take a taxi (5min from North Exit)
- Take a bus at Bus Stop No. 4 or 5 at North Exit, and Get off at Izumi-cho Ichi Chome Bus Stop (nearly 7min) .
- If you walk, it takes approx. 17min.
By Bus
The nearest bus stop is Izumi-cho Ichi Chome.
By Car
Head for the city center of Mito along National Route 50.
